Every modern building has a comms room: the carrier lead-in, the MDF, the patch racks and the switches that the rest of the tenancy depends on. This door sign identifies it and adds the unauthorised entry prohibited line, so cleaners, tenants and trades who have no business in there know it at a glance. Comms rooms are the ones most often missed at labelling stage, because they are not a life-safety item. That gets found out later, when a tenant's contractor opens the wrong door on a floor with three identical grey doors in a row. On a multi-storey fitout you will usually want one per level. The plate is 600mm x 100mm horizontal at $35, in satin natural anodised aluminium, composite silver brushed, or composite white. The two silver finishes read as building services signage and sit comfortably beside electrical and plant room plates from the same range, while white composite gives better contrast on a dark door. Fix it to the leaf or to the wall on the handle side, at the same height as the rest of the floor's door signage. Made in Artarmon, and matched to the other statutory door plates so a whole level can be signed in one order.
